Our philosophy is to learn from everything that we will find and at the same time share our idiosyncrasy. Interculturalism and Sustainable tourism

Interculturalism

We just need to look around to verify that we are constantly communicating with other people who think, feel, speak and act in a different way to ours. Those differences are inherent of our own cultural background. This background determines us and, at the same time, offers a continuous challenge in the coexistence process. This challenge is due to the incomprehension and sometimes rejection to cultural differences.

In Sant Carles de la Rapita we are aware of this cultural pluralism. We are a smart and open-minded society with spirit to promote peaceful coexistence and mutual cultural enrichment.
This fact brings the need to develop intercultural competences which facilitate the communication between the people from different cultures.

The project 2Rapitenques Around The World is a participation to this interculturalism through a round the world trip. It is an experience that as “Rapitenques” we want to share with our town. We want to share our experiences in all of the countries that will welcome us during our travel.

Suistainable tourism

Sant Carles de la Rapita is one of the key touristic towns from the “Terres de L’ Ebre” region. We accept this part of responsibility and we will work on our project in collaboration with the competent authorities in order to promote a sustainable tourism in our city.

According to the World Tourism Organisation (WYO) "Sustainable tourism development guidelines and management practices are applicable to all forms of tourism in all types of destinations, including mass tourism and the various niche tourism segments. Sustainability principles refer to the environmental, economic and socio-cultural aspects of tourism development, and a suitable balance must be established between these three dimensions to guarantee its long-term sustainability.”

We, as travelers that are heading towards a touristic practice in other towns around the world, want to experience the meaning of sustainable tourism. We want to enjoy and share the economic, social, and cultural and natural resources of the destinations that will give us refuge without generating any negative impact in their society.

This sustainable tourism will be the thread of our trip. We want to make our experiences available to our town and its people. We all represent, at some stage in our lives, one of these two roles; the tourist or the hostess.

Our City,Sant Carles de la Ràpita

The Nature inside the sea

The city of Sant Carles de la Ràpita, placed in the south of the Ebre Delta, offers an ideal mix between sea and mountains. This has turned the city into a strategic point from which you can easily visit the Delta and its surrondings.

Some of its most important attractions are the sunny beaches with fine sand and not much depth, ideal for the familiar tourism. This year, once more,Garbi Beach and Las Delicias Beach have been granted with the Blue Flag by European Community.
We want to keep this beaches´quality symbol because we think that It´s basic for preservation and the promotion of them.

Moreover, due to the excellen climate, this area offers to the visitor a large variety of activities and excursions. You will find a sort of them detalled at the link tourist office information web.
